Windows System32 DLL Error

What is a windows system32 dll error and why is it making your life hellish?

Let’s face it.  Most of us who use a computer don’t really understand what this “system32 dll error,” or “rundll32.exe error,” or “runtime 21 error” junk actually means.  We just want our computer to be the convenient, time-saving tool it is meant to be.

You don’t have a degree in computer science, right?

Okay.  I’m a regular computer-using schmuck and I don’t speak much computer-eeze.  But I’m a research nut.  And here’s what I’ve found a system 32 dll error means.

Looking for a quick fix?

Registry Cleaner software can solve your problem fast.

System32 is a directory in your Windows program folder, usually on your C drive.  DLL is an acronym that stands for “dynamic link library,” which is computer-eeze for instructions that tell your pc how to run.  Basically, the DLL gives your computer instructions like “If A occurs, then do B,” and “if X occurs, go to Y.”  DLL’s are kind of like binary flow charts that tell your computer how to sequentially access and open and run and close all the different programs and applications you’ve got on your pc.

Some people call system32 the heart and dll the nervous system, but I think that’s a confusing metaphor.  Computers, as complicated as they are, don’t have one tenth the miraculous wonder of the human anatomy.  Your PC, no matter how annoying riddled with erros it may be, is ultimately fixable by very common means.

Back to my point: When you’re getting a system32 dll error, you’ve got a damaged DLL file in the system32 directory.  It is a pretty regular occurance, I’m afraid.  Your problem DLL file inside system32 could be damaged lots of ways:

Viruses like to attack system32 DLL files
Malware also likes to root in system32 DLL files
Spyware hides in system32 sometimes
Files may be damaged on install when the disc is scratched or dusty

Heck, just using your computer every day in ordinary ways can result in a system32 dll error.  The installation, updating, or uninstallation of programs can muck up the functin of your DLL files.  This is because some programs share DLL data.  And when a new program alters or updates the DLL file data, or an uninstall deletes some portion of that DLL data, then the other program using it can no longer find the instructions needed to run.

What a mess!

Actually, your computer does get to be a pretty good mess from everyday, ordinary use.  Tucked away in hidden files – buried in the Windows registry so you won’t accidentally stumble upon it and delete essential stuff – there is all kinds of junk mucking up the works.  Programs you uninstall, viruses you isolate and delete, obsolete user setting, old information no longer in use from programs long since updated: it all leaves bits and pieces of trash in your Windows registry unless you know how to remove it.

Remember how fast your computer used to be?  You didn’t even have time to get a coffee before the boot up was finished.  Now you can start dinner, fold a load of laundry, and vacuum in the time it takes to start up Windows.  That’s because debris from standard use – junk files, empty registry keys, orphaned or corrupt pathways – is slowing you down.

Anyway, the real point is fixing the stupid errors, right?
